Creating content types in the CMS

Content types are the foundation of any CMS structure. In Atabasch CMS they define what kind of content you manage – for example pages and posts. For a new project you create your own types, such as "Projects", "Team" or "FAQ".

Step 1: Create the type

In the cockpit open Structure → Content types and click "New". Give it a clear name and a unique slug – the slug stays technically stable while the name can change.

Step 2: Decide on an archive

Should the type have an overview page (like the blog at /blog)? Then enable "Archive" and set the archive slug. Standalone pages need no archive.

Step 3: Add fields

Using field groups you add your own fields – text, image, gallery, date and more. That turns a generic type into exactly the tool your content needs.

Done: the new content type appears in the sidebar right away and is ready for your entries.
